With over 60 years of experience in the grape-growing business and more than 12 years as owners of the Redwood Valley Cellars custom crushing/storage facility, we have built our business on the foundation of delivering superior customer service and quality at affordable rates. We pride ourselves on our ability to customize programs to meet our clients’ unique needs, whether they are small growers, wineries or large bulk wine brokers. The Barra Family-Proprietors

Bringing diverse experience and background in grape growing, winemaking, marketing, finance and operations, the Barra family (Charlie, Martha, Shawn and Shelley) offers you a wide variety of resources to draw from when it comes to choosing a custom crush/wine storage partner.

Charlie Barra   With over 62 harvests under his belt, grape grower Charlie Barra serves as a knowledgeable resource for all of our customers.
Martha Barra   Managing the growth of two wine brands, all organic certification programs and grower relations, Martha brings over 30 years of experience in the wine business.
Shawn Harmon   Shawn’s background in civil engineering, finance and operations serves as an invaluable asset when it comes to assessing the “business” side of the wine industry.
Shelley Maly   With 20 years of sales and marketing experience, Shelley can provide guidance and consultation on how to take your wines to market.

Dan Kopache-Winemaker Dan Kopache

Bringing over 20 years of premium winemaking experience to the table, Dan Kopache oversees all winemaking responsibilities for both the BARRA of Mendocino wine brands (BARRA of Mendocino and Girasole Vineyards) as well as all winemaking for the Redwood Valley Cellars custom crush facility. Below you will find a snapshot of Dan’s background:

  • Assisted in launching several successful brands including Benziger’s Imagery Series, Kendall-Jackson’s Collage, and Fetzer’s Virgin Vines and Little Black Dress
  • An uncompromising emphasis on quality, attention to detail and cost savings
  • Led a winemaking production team of 22 employees at a 45,000 Barrel Storage facility
  • Part of the planning team for the construction of Kendall-Jackson’s Skylane facility
  • Experience with implementing cutting edge wine techniques (Micro-oxygenation, elevage, etc.) for improving wine quality
